COMPARISON

Fitaily vs MyFitnessPal: product database and training

MyFitnessPal is one of the most recognisable calorie counting apps. Fitaily has a smaller database but connects the diary with training and on-device AI.

SHORT ANSWER

Can Fitaily replace MyFitnessPal?

MyFitnessPal has a very large product database, a barcode scanner, recipes and integrations with fitness apps. For counting calories from packaged products it is hard to beat.

Fitaily has a smaller database but connects the diary with strength training, running and progress analysis, and can run selected AI analyses locally on iPhone. The choice depends on whether the database or one ecosystem matters more.

COMPETITOR

Where MyFitnessPal is strong

  • A very large product database, including international brands.
  • A barcode scanner and fast repeat logging of meals.
  • Recipes and integrations with many fitness apps.
  • A long-running product with extensive statistics.

The product database is a real advantage for MyFitnessPal — Fitaily does not match it.

FITAILY

What Fitaily adds

Fitaily has more than 300 recipes and more than 1300 exercises, and connects the diary with training and measurements. The energy balance therefore reflects what you actually did in a workout.

Private mode runs selected AI analyses locally on iPhone (iOS 26+, a compatible device with Apple Intelligence), without sending data to the cloud. Advanced AI mode runs in the cloud and requires Premium.

Fitaily's product database is smaller than MyFitnessPal's — a real difference if you often log niche products.

Frequently asked questions

Is Fitaily's product database as large as MyFitnessPal's?

No. Fitaily's database is smaller, but the barcode scanner, search and AI analysis of a description or photo help fill the gaps.

Does the AI analysis work without internet?

In Private mode yes, if the iPhone supports Apple Foundation Models, runs iOS 26 or newer and has Apple Intelligence enabled. Advanced AI mode needs a connection.

Does Fitaily have recipes?

Yes, more than 300 recipes with nutrition values and the option to add them to the diary.

Can I import data from MyFitnessPal?

There is no automatic history import. Fitaily reads data from Apple Health and imports activities from Strava.
